For me, Chinese Medicine is about philosophy, anatomy, common sense, connection with nature, spirituality, emotional balance and harmony, and the causes of health and illness.
As a practitioner of Chinese Medicine, I specialize in Acupuncture and Bodywork (Tui Na massage). Before I started my own practice, I worked for several years at a Chinese Medical Center. Because I am affiliated with the professional association Zhong, my treatments are reimbursed by most health insurers.
Through a career in marketing and sales (IBM, KLM, Web 3, RTV Maastricht) and visual arts, I came into contact with Chinese medicine. Although I already enjoyed massage as a child, I never thought about making it my profession. When I was asked by a Chinese therapist to come and give massages, this forgotten love came back to life. It has ultimately led to the fact that I can now combine my business experience, creativity and love for life in practicing an age-old healing method that only seems to increase in relevance. I am immensely grateful for this.
About De Witte Os
I chose this name because it inspires me. For me, it reflects our potential as human beings. It is an image that comes from the Zen Buddhist tradition where ‘The Ten Pictures of the Ox’ tell the story of man’s search for his true nature or, more modernly expressed, the search for his Heart. I am convinced that our human potential is unconditional, inexhaustible and limitless. I also think that it is our deepest motivation to discover our true nature, our Heart; each in his own unique way. De Witte Os reminds me not only of the power of the Heart, but also of the desire for a conscious society where there is room for the head and the Heart.
Through De Witte Os I hope to be able to support and help people to deal with the forces and counterforces that we all have to deal with and to face the challenges that life has to offer and to face them fruitfully.
Creative work
In addition to my work as a practitioner of Chinese Medicine, I am also active as an artist. I love to let my creativity flow in my studio and find images that for me are about what it means to be human. The images I make arise from a personal experience. For me, a successful image shows the essence of my experience and at the same time transcends the purely personal.
