Do you want to get rid of your pain?

Then I might be able to help you. In recent years I have gained a lot of experience with: (chronic) pain complaints in the back, neck and shoulder, pain in the joints etc. as well as body pains without a clear origin; Headache, migraine, pressure on the eyes, dry eyes, burning tongue, Bell's palsy, pain in the senses, jaw clenching, voice problems: Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Crohn's: Bladder complaints: Constipation, diarrhea: Menstrual complaints: functional recovery after surgery: Restless Leg Syndrome: Hay fever, cough and other lung complaints (including post-Covid complaints). With complaints around breathing such as shortness of breath or hyperventilation and heart complaints such as palpitations or pressure on the chest, there is often a mental emotional aspect involved as well.

Mentally and emotionally back in balance

Do you experience mental and emotional complaints and do you long for quality of life in which you experience more balance mentally and emotionally on a daily basis? I am happy to help you with this. Some examples of complaints that I treat daily in my practice: longing for more inner peace and balance or making certain emotions such as fear, anger or sadness manageable. Processing trauma and better dealing with stress complaints. Not being able to focus or keep brooding, being listless and tired or not being able to relax. Being unable to sleep well or hardly at all, an eating or drinking addiction. Or mental emotional complaints that arise around the menopause. Sometimes mental emotional complaints are very old and even go back into the family line. Long-term emotional mental complaints can also cause physical complaints.

Nourishing destiny

Do you have questions around your life's purpose? What suits me? Who suits me? Who am I? Sometimes you have to reinvent yourself: for example after you have experienced a major change. Or you notice that the your old jacket or coat no longer fits, but that the new one is not ready yet. This 'in between stage' can trigger a sense of crisis. Or perhaps you have the feeling that you are not living your life to the fullest, but you can't figure out why it's like that. These are examples of questions that might benefit from the inherent wisdom teachings of Chinese medicine or from a treatment that balances your primary energies and reconnects you with your Dao, your Path, so that you can set out again with renewed clarity and vitality.

Natural, sustainable and inclusive

Chinese medicine is based on the insights of the natural philosophers of ancient China and as such is a healing method that fits in this time of renewed awareness about our connection with the earth and the nature around us. Chinese medicine is sustainable because, apart from metal needles and some related attributes, it uses natural ingredients. And it is inclusive: the body, our emotional and mental life and consciousness are seen as one whole, no distinction is made, everything belongs and is relevant. And Chinese medicine has not been doing that for the past 10 years, but for more than 3,500 years! How great is that?

Who am I?

De Witte Os is a member of the professional association Zhong – Dutch Association for Traditional Chinese Medicine. As a result, my treatments are reimbursed by most health insurers.

I had very little energy for months. However, the main reason that I decided to have acupuncture applied was that for almost half a year I had suffered from severe anxiety and regular panic attacks, as a result of sexual abuse in my youth. Jean-Paul listened carefully and extensively to my history. It was new to me to learn that acupuncture could also help with emotional anxiety. I have now had 7 treatments in total. Jean-Paul explains which treatments he wanted to use and why. I feel it's better to continue with the acupuncture for a while, but I don't have any fears anymore. This is such a liberating experience! I never thought it possible that I would be able to experience this again and I am especially grateful to Jean-Paul for his expertise and care.

I've been coming to Jean-Paul's for a few weeks now and I'm very satisfied. I have been suffering from my entire back for years (approximately 21 years) and for some time now I have been suffering from my knees, hips and ankles due to fibromyalgia, hypermobility and scoliosis. I have already tried many different treatments such as physiotherapy, back program, people dieck, osteopathy and a lot of medication. Nothing helped for a long time and I didn't want to stay on the medication for the rest of my life. My last hope was Jean-Paul and I'm so glad I did. Jean-Paul makes me feel really comfortable and he really listens to your complaints. I am now off my medication and the pain I still have is going very well. I recommend it to everyone because I really feel much better than 2 months ago.

I mainly suffered from insomnia, stress, pain in my lower back and a very restless feeling. I've had this problem for at least 25 years. I absolutely did not want to start with sleep medication. I've tried everything like melatonin, yoga, sleep music, every sleep ritual I could think of, devoured one sleep book after another, until I discovered the acupuncture of THE WHITE OS. Here I have been in treatment for 5 weeks and believe it or not but I am now much calmer, less stressed and now sleep 6 to 7 hours straight. I am so glad I started this treatment and I thank you Jean-Paul for this. I have experienced the treatments as very pleasant.

After dozens of courses of antibiotics, examinations by a gynecologist and urologist and treatments by a pelvic floor physiotherapist to combat a chronic bladder infection, the general practitioner and the urologist suggested taking a small amount of antibiotics daily as a preventive measure. I heard from someone who got rid of her recurring bladder infections through acupuncture. So I ended up at De Witte Os at the beginning of November and thanks to the pleasant treatments by Jean Paul I have not had a bladder infection so far. I am confident that it also increases resistance.

I go once a month for an acupuncture and after treatment, I go to 'Praktijk de Witte Os'. Jean-Paul works professionally, with attention and respect. Because of the treatments my resistance has clearly improved and my energy has increased, I also sleep better. A very good way to take care of yourself; I recommend it to everyone!

With my many sports, the White Ox is my regular practice for keeping my muscles loose and flexible. Jean-paul asks where I am having trouble or where it is stuck, after which he massages the spot well. Thanks to Jean-paul I never suffer from major injuries and I can continue my training sessions. Last time I went to the White Os with the flu. After which Jean-Paul proposed to tackle the flu symptoms with acupuncture. No sooner said than done. After the treatment, the flu set in completely and I was able to go to bed right away. However, when I woke up the next morning, everything was gone. I still had a bit of a cold but the flu was gone and I was able to go to work.

Sunday February 10 2019 my back was so stuck that I could no longer sit nor stand. Hardly bearable pains kept me on the floor and withholded me from getting up to see a therapist. Jean-Paul Barbou van Roosteren from De Witte Os came to treat me. An hour after he started massage and acupuncture this lame man could go out for a walk. Perhaps not as fast as Jesus did it but as miraculous! Thank you so much!!!

Treating psycho-emotional complaints with Chinese Medicine

Acupuncture and bodywork can contribute to the resolution or reduction of psycho-emotional complaints. Sleep: a strange phenomenon

(reading time 5-7 min. – with tips and a Qi Gong exercise) We can all sleep, although we were never taught to. Like food and sexuality, sleep is an instinctual basic human need. We spend a third of our lives in this state. That the ancient Greeks were already fascinated by sleep is evidenced by […]
